KUCHING: The IQEEP System (Stock Taking Check) has become a pioneer in the library administration system of local higher education institutions.

The Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic (PKS) innovative product system has been recognised and adopted by four external libraries.

The libraries are the Kuching Community College Library, the Training Institute Library of the Ministry of Health Malaysia Kuching Sarawak, the RPR Taman Palma Indah Village Library and the Hajah Sena Bugo Village Library in Kampung Sungai Bedil Besar.

PKS director Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan noted that the objective of submitting the IQEEP System is to share knowledge and expertise and help a library, especially a small library, in managing stocktake.

In this regard, Hikmatullah said PKS always encouraged the involvement of its staff in the development of innovation as an effort to raise the image of PKS as a quality TVET institution in addition to being able to contribute to the community.

IQEEP (Innovation, Quick & Reliable, Efficient Data Conditioning, Easy to use and Portable Devices) is a system that has been developed by the PKS Library Unit for the purpose of calculating the amount of stock/collection and tracking stock/collection at the Sri Kenyalang PKS Library.

IQEEP helps to quickly calculate the total collection and track the status of a book, whether it is being borrowed or untraceable, and was registered with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) in 2021.

The IQEEP System handover ceremony was held at PKS on Thursday (Oct 27).
