KUCHING: Parti Amanah Negara (AMANAH) will contest in 54 parliamentary seats in the 15th general election (GE15), six of which will be in Sarawak.
The party released its full list of candidates on its Facebook page yesterday (Oct 30).
Similar to the GE14, for Sarawak, the party will contest in Santubong, Kota Samarahan, Batang Sadong, Batang Lupar, Tanjong Manis and Igan parliamentary seats in this coming general election.
AMANAH Sarawak chairman Abang Abdul Halil Abang Naili will be the candidate for Kota Samarahan.
Wel@Maxwell Rojis will be the candidate for Batang Lupar, Zainab Suhaili in Tanjong Manis, Mohamad Zen Peli in Santubong, Hud Andri Zulkarnaen in Igan and Luhaji Lahiya in Batang Sadong.
In the last general election, Hud Andri also contested in Igan and lost to Ahmad Johnie Zawawi who contested under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket and won a 8,495 vote majority.
AMANAH Sarawak lost all the six seats it contested in the last general election.
AMANAH Sarawak makes up a third of Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak, together with Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Sarawak (PKR).
DAP Sarawak has recently announced its list of candidates whereby Stampin incumbent Chong Chieng Jen, Bandar Kuching incumbent Dr Kelvin Yii, Mas Gading incumbent Mordi Bimol, Lanang incumbent Alice Lau, and Sibu incumbent Oscar Ling will be defending their respective seats.
DAP’s new faces are Learry Jabul who is the candidate for Serian, Roderick Wong (Sarikei) and Tony Chiew (Bintulu).
Meanwhile, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce the party’s candidate for Sarawak on November 1.
