SIBU: A man was killed in Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here on Sunday (Oct 30) after he was hit by a motorcycle.
Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said in a statement on Monday (Oct 31) that the fatal accident happened at about 9pm.
“The motorcyclist was travelling from the Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce traffic lights heading towards the Sentosa traffic lights.
“When he reached the location, he hit a pedestrian crossing the road.”
ACP Zulkipli said the victim, a local whose identity is yet unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Sibu Hospital while the motorcyclist is currently being treated in the hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
