Sim calls for undivided support for candidates

KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian has called on members to rally behind every candidate chosen to contest in the 15th general election.

“I told everybody that once the candidate is finalised, announced and signs the watikah (appointment letter), everybody should stand behind the candidate,” he said.

“Just like what our Premier said, we must do our part for Sarawak to ensure a stable government.”

Dr Sim who is Deputy Premier said this to the media after the Padungan arch light switching ceremony on Sunday evening (Oct 30).

On Oct 27, Premier and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg disclosed that GPS will announce its list of candidates who will be contesting in all 31 parliamentary seats in GE15 on Nov 3.

SUPP is one of the component parties that made up GPS, alongside Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
