KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie has a clear direction for Sri Aman despite being the newcomer to contest in upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
The Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) women chief said she will focus on the needs of the people in the constituency, especially in terms of agriculture and education – during the 14-day campaign period.
Sri Aman, she said, is a big area with fertile land, thus, it has been identified as a hub for agriculture or food basket.
“There are plans to develop agriculture in Sri Aman and at the same time to transforma and promote the area as a tourism product,” she said when met by reporters after the announcement of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidates for the 15th general election (GE15) at PBB headquarters here today.
Apart from that, she said, education is equally important for the people in Sri Aman. Thus, she wants to improve the education infrastructure in the area.
“We want better and more education infrastructure, including educational institutions for the agriculture sector,” she said.
“We want the young people in Sri Aman to have the access to education and be able to benefit and enjoy the various development progress that we will bring in Sri Aman,” she added.
“The state government has a lot of development plans, so don’t waste our chance – to ensure GPS can win big this time,” she said.
