KUCHING: The Sarawak government is committed to making sure the quality of early childhood development is in line with its aspiration of becoming a developed state by 2030.

Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus said in order to achieve this aspiration, a high quality role model was one of the important factors.

Rosey delivering her speech.

“With that being said, in order to produce good human capital, it should begin at an early age.

“This is because the level of children’s brain development is the most important aspect.”

She added that creativity and innovation among children needed to be nurtured and developed so that children could realise their potential.

“Every children is born with different talents and every individual has his or her advantage and disadvantage.”

She said this during the Sarawak Preschool Kids Got Talent 2022 here on Thursday (Nov 3).

Rosey added that parents were also responsible in identifying their children’s abilities, boosting their intellect towards the the things that they love to do.

Sarawak Preschool Kids Got Talent is an annual competition held by the ministry since 2018. Among the objectives are to explore the children’s talents, to give early exposure to competitiveness among the children and to centralise multiple intelligence among the children.
