Amok suspect wielding ‘Samurai’ swords detained

MIRI: A man who ran amok with two sharp objects resembling ‘Samurai’ swords was arrested by the police on Tuesday night.

The arrest was made around 7pm in a Quadruplex flat Permyjaya here after nearby residents were terrified upon seeing the man wandering around wielding the sword.

Six policemen who were patrolling for ‘Ops Harapan’ at the nearby area, immediately rushed to the location upon receiving the alert.

It took them less than 15 minutes to subdue the suspect and seized two sharp objects resembling Samurai swords with each measuring around three feet in length.

Fortunately the arrest went on smoothly without any untoward incident.

The 22 year-old suspect is currently being detained under police custody.

It was not immediate disclosed what had caused the suspect to behave in such manner.
