KUCHING: The real sinners are those who did not protect Sarawak’s rights when they were in power, says Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Stampin candidate Lue Cheng Hing.
He said Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s recent remark that PSB candidates should withdraw from the 15th general election smacks of unprofessionalism.
“He said we will be sinners if we don’t step down. I would like to inform him that during the reign of the Pakatan Harapan government we supported them for 22 months, don’t forget we actually voted for them.
“Under the PH government many projects in Sarawak were cancelled by DAP. Sarawak had a lot of infrastructure projects approved, but PH cancelled them,” Lue told a press conference here today.
He recalled that Sarawak had to resort to funds from the state coffers to complete these ‘abandoned projects’.
“And now I don’t see why we should elect you (PH-DAP) again. I hope the people realise who the true sinners are,” he said.
Lue, a Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) member, is contesting on a PSB logo. He is involved in a three-way tussle with Chong, who is defending his Stampin seat which he won in 2018. The GPS candidate is Lo Khere Chiang from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).
