KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members have been reminded not to support opposition candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).
Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada said this includes Dr Alim Impira, who is contesting in the Serian as an Independent.
“Our president (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) has spelt it out very clearly that we have to support the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem in Serian,” he said.
Dr Simon added that he had warned PBB Tebedu members not to support the opposition.
“If they do help and support the opposition, including the Independent, the repercussions will be very bad,” he said.
As for Dr Alim’s party membership, Dr Simon said he will leave it to the party’s top leadership.
Dr Alim, who is a former high-ranking customs officer, was a registered member of PBB Tebedu.
Meanwhile, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) publicity chief Datuk Idris Buang said PBB members who support and contest against GPS candidates will have their membership revoked.
