SADONG JAYA: Only Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) knows the direction and planning for Sarawak and its people’s future, especially for the young generation, said Datuk Julaihi Narawi.
The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president said the Sarawakians cannot give way to a candidate from a party based in the Peninsula to govern Sarawak.
“It includes parties that have friendly relations, because only GPS understands the wishes of the people of Sarawak.
“If possible, we want to all 31 parliamentary seats for GPS. If we win all the seats, this can make us stronger and have louder voice in parliament.
“Because if our MPs come from parties based in the Peninsula, the goals and directions are different,” he said.
He said this while speaking on behalf of the Premier of Sarawak to conclude the Sarawakku Sayang Inauguration Ceremony at the Panggung Udara, here yesterday.
Julaihi also urged voters to give their full support to the GPS candidates in this 15th general election (GE15).
Julaihi also insisted that GPS has no political relationship with any party from the Peninsula such as Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN).
“I believe that if our MP is not from GPS, he or she will not be able to be on par with us because their boss is from Malaya, based in Kuala Lumpur.
“So any decision they want to make, they have to wait for approval from their boss there.
“It means that they are not very independent in terms of making decisions for Sarawak.
“We have learned from our past experiences, because of that, GPS was formed and now we can make our own decisions and realise our development agenda in Sarawak,” he said.
“From there, we already know why we choose GPS, and why we reject PN and reject PH. We can distinguish who is fighting for the rights of the people of Sarawak,” he said.
