MARUDI: Election Commission (EC) workers will fly the remaining ballot boxes to 18 polling stations today for Baram constituency.

It was reported yesterday (Nov 18) that inclement weather had delayed the transportation of ballot boxes to polling stations in Baram.

EC workers were reportedly stranded at Marudi Airport for two days.

According to returning officer (RO) for Baram constituency Belayong Pok, the EC will transport the ballot boxes to 18 polling stations this morning.

“A total of 176 ballot boxes were transported without any hitch earlier to the polling stations,” he said when contacted.

Baram has a total 194 polling stations.

Baram is the biggest constituency in Sarawak in terms of land size.

The constituency will witness a three-way fight involving Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Anyi Ngau, Roland Engan (Pakatan Harapan) and Wilfred Entika Eebai (Independent).
