SMK Saribas eye top six in MSS C’ship

DEBAK: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Saribas are targeting golds in this year’s 14th Track and Field Championship of Sports Council Schools Division (MSSB) Betong in some field events.

According to the school’s co-curriculum senior assistant, who is also contingent manager, Abg. Busri Abg. Morni the goal is to improve their results from the previous year.

“We are prepared to face the competition which started on Monday and we hope SMK Saribas contingent to be in the top six schools overall,” he said.

Some of the events that are expected to contribute the gold medals are in the Under 13 years women’s hurdles, shot put, hammer throw of the women’s Under 18 yearsand  javelin and the men’s Under 15 high jump.

“There may also be surprises some other events that would contribute gold,” he said.

SMK Saribas contingent were led by the principal, Merni  Bujang together with head coach, Faizul Nizam Gani and seven other teachers who trained the athletes.

The ongoing MSS Betong track and field championship held at the Sports Complex Betong started on Feb 27and ends on March 3.
