KUCHING: Defeated Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Stampin Lo Khere Chiang says he will continue to fight for Sarawak’s rights.

The 15th general election (GE15) saw Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Chong Chieng Jen defeating Lo by a majority of 7,158 votes.

Lo, an engineer by profession and a two-term Batu Kitang assemblyman from Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), pledged to continue serving his rakyat dutifully and diligently, and priortise the fight for Sarawak’s rights.

“I wish to congratulate my opponent for winning the seat and thank the voters who supported me in this election,” he said when contacted by the New Sarawak Tribune today (Nov 20).

SUPP is a component party of GPS.

The other candidate in Stampin which saw a three-cornered fight was Lue Cheng Hing from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) who polled 2,291 votes.
