The fifth edition of the expo was held in the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from November 22 to 24, with “Energising Digital Transformation” as the theme chosen by the Sarawak government.

The IEW 2022, known as the largest international exhibition and conference for Malaysia’s oil and petroleum industry, was organised by AMB Tarsus Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, a renowned exhibition and conference organiser in the field.

The group, founded in 1996, has a diverse portfolio that includes food and beverage, building and construction, water, energy, security, agricultural, oil and gas, infrastructure, and automotive aftermarket industries. Over the years, it has taken pleasure in collaborating closely with regional organisations representing the industry and in providing tangible outcomes and returns on investments for exhibiting and participating businesses.

In recent years, the Sarawak government has been dedicated to utilising the state’s abundant energy resources to accelerate its development by transforming the state into a digital hub. This transformation initiative is expected to lead to the creation of well-paying jobs and a high-value-added economy.

The development of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) and the growth of its investment potential were also highlighted during this conference. The SCORE programme has led to significant investments in large-scale projects, and as its infrastructure is developed further, including the Samalaju Port, further high-value domestic and international investments are anticipated.

Besides SCORE, the progress and advantages of one of the most important factors in bringing about change in Sarawak, the Pan Borneo Highway project, were also discussed, along with other initiatives.

One of the exhibitors, senior manager at Sarawak Energy Berhad, Azahari Aliman said: “I am pleased with the helpfulness of the employees and the quality of the service.
