KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from a delegation from the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) at his office Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here on yesterday (Dec 5).
The visit, led by NREB Environmental Quality controller Peggy Ronin Edin, was to invite Abang Johari to the 10th Premier of Sarawak Environmental Awards 2021/2022, scheduled to take place on Dec 14.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Peggy said the awards were one of the state government’s initiatives to give recognition and encourage all industry sectors to prioritise good environmental management.
“Nowadays, people are talking about protecting the earth and climate change, hence by the awards are a platform to show people the importance of adopting green initiatives and caring about the environment.”
