KUCHING: Times have changed and more locals than foreign tourists are visiting touristic places in Sarawak such as Bako and Mulu National Park nowadays.
Permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Hii Chang Kee said this when officiating at the prize giving ceremony of the “Unveil The Hornbill” short video competition here today.
He added that after the event here, a similar competition would also be held in Sibu.
The first prize winner of the competition was Chong Ee Vei from Miri with his short video entitled: “Beautiful Sarawak”; second place was won by Chai Teck Hua from Kuching with his work entitled: “Sarawak, The Hidden Treasure” and third place went to Chin Ah Min with his work entitled: “Unveil the Land of Hornbill’s Island”.
The competition was organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak.
Also present at the function were Sarawak Tourism Board’s CEO Sharzede Salleh Askor and the Chambers’ secretary-general Datuk Chai Voon Tok.
