MIRI: A two-metre-long reticulated python spotted hanging around on a mango tree outside a house at Lorong Berembang 4, Pujut 7B, was captured by Civil Defence Force (APM) Miri. It was later released to its habitat on Thursday (Dec 8).
APM Miri officer Lieutenant (PA) Mirwan Shah Masri said a four-member team was deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 7.24pm.
“Upon arrival, the team then met the 44-year-old complainant who informed that she saw the reptile on a tree outside her house.
“The team later found the python coiled up around a branch of a mango tree and proceeded to capture it,” he said.
The snake was later released to its original habitat away from the neighbourhood before the operation wrapped up at 7.33pm.
