MIRI: The driver of a sedan involved in a three-vehicl crash in Jalan Bakam-Miri early yesterday (Dec 12) has died of his injuries while undergoing treatment at Miri Hospital.
The accident involved a four-wheel drive (4WD), the said sedan and a motorcycle.
According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the crash occurred around 5.14am on Monday. The 4WD, which was heading towards Bekenu from the city centre, suddenly veered into the opposite lane and rammed the sedan driven by the 54-year-old deceased identified as Anchis Bedit.
“It was believed that the 4WD was avoiding a motorcycle in front of him before skidding and veering into the opposite lane,” ACP Alexson said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
