KUCHING: The Ang Cheng Ho Old Quarry rejuvenation project will play a part in stimulating economic, social, meeting and tourism activities in future Greater Kuching especially Kuching West.
Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Sim Kui Hian who is also Batu Kawa assemblyman, said the rejuvenation project is an exciting and another potential landmark.
“It will be another potential not just for Batu Kawa, but for Kuching with 20 acres of Lake and 40 acres of park, mixed development with commercial and housing (working with the private land owners as legacy development) and water team park (for private proposal initiative).
“Assess for these public recreation amenities will be further enhanced with planned second Batu Kawa bridge nearby,” he said in his Facebook post recently.
Sim also said with the project, he is looking forwards to hold functions in the air-conditioned multipurpose hall which will have more than 100 tables for diners.
“With the hall, it will be another venue for meeting the youth at their local community innovation hub,” he added.
