COVID-19 cases slightly down

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 475 COVID-19 cases during the 51st epidemiology (epid) week, a slight decrease compared to 689 cases during the 50th epid week.

Of the total number of cases during the 51st epid week, 461 cases were in categories one and two while 14 cases were in categories three, four and five.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its weekly COVID-19 update, said one COVID-19 related death was recorded in Kuching during the 51st epid week.

In the 51st epid week, the committee said Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 168, followed by Sibu (65), Miri (49), Bintulu (45), Samarahan (22), Sarikei (20), Dalat (16) and Mukah (12).

Ten cases each were recorded in Bau; six cases each in Lundu, and Daro; five cases each in Betong and Saratok; four cases each in Kapit, Sri Aman,and Selangau and three cases in Subis, Tatau, Limbang and Julau.

Meanwhile, two cases each were reported in Meradong, Simunjan, Lubok Antu, and Matu and one case each in Pakan, Asajaya, Lawas, Pusa, Tebedu and Tanjung Manis.
