MARUDI: The continuous support of Marudi constituents to the Sarawak government has translated to a positive impact on the development of the area.
Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil then called upon the constituents to maintain the momentum of support to ensure continuous development that can be enjoyed together.
“The development of human capital also needs to go hand in hand with physical development so that future generations can continue progress and development in accordance with the current changes,” he was quoted as saying in a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) during the 2023 New Year’s Eve celebration last night.
Also present at the celebration was Baram MP Datuk Anyi Ngau.
Earlier, Anyi emphasised in his speech that unity in ethnic and religious diversity in Marudi should be maintained to ensure a harmonious community.
Marudi District acting officer Vanessa Joseph, Marudi District Council secretary Michelle Hildalyne Jering, Marudi District Council chairman Edward Mendai as well as community leaders were also present.
