BETONG: An eight-foot long python hiding in a toilet in a house at Kampung Sebemban was captured by the Civil Defence Force (APM) Betong today (Jan 4).
APM Betong officer Second Lieutenant Desem Samuel said a four-member team was despatched to the scene after they received a distress call around 10.20 am.
On arrival, the APM personnel met with the complainant and found the reptile hiding in the toilet after it swallowed the complainant’s pet cat.
The python was captured using snake catching equipment and brought back to their office for further action.
It was later released to its original habitat away from the neighbourhood.
For the record, this would make it the second case of snake catching this year. Last year, APM Betong recorded a total of 114 emergency calls related to snake catching.
