KUCHING: The Sarawak government, led by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), is now in a good position to bring more development and prosperity, says Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
The Deputy Premier pointed out that there were currently five full ministers and six deputy ministers from GPS in the federal government.
“Thus, we have ample opportunities to work on and implement economic programmes that can provide jobs and generate income for our people, especially our youths.”
He said this during an appreciation gathering for party workers from Bukit Saban Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) who helped in the election in Spaoh recently.
At the same time, Uggah said GPS and PBB must be strengthened.
“This is very important so that we can win all future elections with big majorities, including winning back the seats we lost,” he stressed.
On another matter, Uggah also chaired the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) steering committee meeting in Betong.
The committee, led by Uggah himself, will pay a courtesy call on Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Friday (Jan 13) to brief him on its plans and proposals.
BDDA has identified 72 projects costing RM840mil.
