MIRI: Firemen from Miri Fire and Rescue Department on Saturday, attended to two cases of bush fires.

The first reportedly occurred near Miri Go-Kart track in Permyjaya while the second was in Lambir.

According to Acting Miri Zone Fire department Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, a team of firemen from Lopeng fire station were rushed to Permyjaya near Miri Go-kart track upon responding to an alert of bush fire at 4.04 pm.

“Another team from Miri Central was despatched to Lambir, near the Prison, in the evening after receiving an emergency call on bush fire,” he said.

Both operations ran smoothly as they managed to put out the fire.

Currently Miri is experiencing dry situation and has been so for the past four days.
