SIBU: Politics in Malaysia is highly unpredictably now that there is every possibility that anything can happen.

According to the president of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh, in politics there is every possibility what on earth one can expect, especially pertaining to the UMNO’s Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) to work together.

“And one can never expect Democratic Action Party (DAP) and UMNO that they have been fighting for each other for more than half a century and now they come together.

“One day you are enemies and another day you are friends. Like Anthony Loke, the secretary-general of DAP would fly in from Kuala Lumpur to say sorry to our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg . They can come together to make friends when they have been scolding each other for more than half a century,” he said when addressing at the PSB’s Chinese New Year celebration over the luncheon held at Golden Happiness Restaurant here yesterday.

The Bawang Assan assemblyman said it looks like people say politic is without principle.

He said there is no principle but they justify the principle in the name of national unity, political stability and they come together.

“We are happy to see that Anwar has become the prime minister bringing in all parties to bring about political stability in Malaysia.

“We are happy but we never expected that to happen prior to the 15th general election. How can you expect them to come together when they were enemies for more than half a century. Suddenly one day they could unite to form the unity government.

“Some of my members are hoping that PSB would become part of the unity government. There is every possibility by looking now at politics in Malaysia,” he pointed out.

Wong also wished the party members would continue to work hard as a responsible constructive opposition party.

He pointed out that it is important that in democratic unit to have opposition party to play the check and balance role so that democracy could be fully practised and keep the government on toes.

“l encourage the party leaders and members to work hard…who knows one day they will think that PSB is an indispensable party for people of Sarawak,” Wong added.
