Sarawak in position to do even better this year

SIBU: Sarawak’s record RM11.9 billion revenue last year is something every Sarawakian can take pride in.

And Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Michael Tiang believes this will be another great year for the state.

“We definitely can do better this year, especially now that the election is over and all of us focus on the development of Sarawak and less on politics.

“We want to spring higher and move faster towards our goal to be prosperous state by 2030,” he said at the SJK(C) Kiang Hin’s annual dinner cum Chinese New Year 2023 celebration held at Tanahmas hotel here on Friday night (Feb 3).

Tiang was represented by councillor Ling Hua Wee at the event.

The Pelawan assemblyman pointed out that the state government has made a lot of progress over the past 10 years since the leadership of the late Pehin Sri Tan Sri Adenan Satem and the current Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said the recent announcement by Abang Johari that Sarawak had recorded RM11.9 billion revenue in the year 2022 was actually more that the projected revenue of RM10.2 billion.

On SJK(C) Kiang Hin which is located in the Teku area, he was pleased that the school has achieved much academically, co-curricular activities and in its development.

He attributed all of these achievements to cooperation and support from everyone, including students, teachers, board of management, and parents.

pulation had been growing very fast over the last few years. So, the school will have to work harder to give the best education to the students and to provide better facilities for them,” he said.

He is confident that with the commitment from the everyone the school board, teachers and parents, SJK(C) Kiang Hin will perform its best.

He said Sibu needs to be a place where talents are discovered.

“Our children are our future leaders who would one day take over the leadership to lead Sarawak.

“Let us all work together for the sake of our children to discover their own talents and develop the skills they need,” Tiang added.

Sibu District Education Officer Ahli Chikba, Chairman of the United Association of Chinese Primary Aided School Boards of Management of Sibu, Kapit and Mukah Divisions Tang Siong Khui, SJK(C) Kiang Hin School Board of Management’s Chairman Kapitan So Teck Kee and the school’s headmaster Ling Ing Kiong were among those present.
