KUCHING: Sarawak State Public Service Commission (SPANS) is looking forward to working with the state civil servants to further improve the governance of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) in line with Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
This was among the matters discussed during a courtesy call by SPANS on the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
SPANS chairman Datuk Dr Sabariah Putit said that the commission was very pleased with the Premier’s willingness to share his ideas and views in moving forward the SCS.
“We are very grateful to the Premier for giving us the opportunity to hear from him regarding the future of SCS.
“As we know, every day he (Abang Johari) will talk about the role of the civil service, how important the machinery is and what is the role of the Sarawak Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and so on.
“It is interesting when we hear for ourselves what is in the mind of the Premier and of course, we echo his views of driving SCS into a new era,” she said as reported by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) in a news report.
She also said the Premier is now emphasising on the transformation of SCS in line with the digitisation of Sarawak.
“We are all very lucky to have a leader who can bring about that transformation and we in SPANS are very proud to be a part of this transformation journey.
“We hope that we can work together with Sarawak civil servants and the Sarawak government secretaries to take advantage of this new agenda towards transforming the civil service,” she said.
