SIBU: A man claimed trial to dishonestly concealing a sum of RM400,000 belonging to another at the Magistrate’s Court here today.
Chong Wai Hoong was released on bail of RM20,000 in two local sureties by Magistrate Oon Kork Chern.
Chong stands accused of dishonestly concealing the money belonging to one Chieng Mee Ngiik at a company in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman on Nov 17 last year.
The charge framed under Section 424 of the Penal Code provides for an imprisonment term of up to five years or fine or both upon conviction.
The court impounded Chong’s passport and also ordered him to report to the investigating officer of the case on the 15th of each month until the disposal of the case.
The court scheduled case management for April 10.
