KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No 5 has donated RM7,755.90 to the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) following the success of its Entrepreneur Day.
According to a statement, the event was organised at the school premises on Feb 11.
“This is a project-based learning experience that focuses on nurturing creativity and innovation. Besides that, it also teaches the students to love and care for the unfortunate.
“There was great excitement among the students as they could learn to make small businesses and donate the money to the SCCS,” it said.
Aside from the game stalls they designed themselves, the students also sold products ranging from hotdogs, fries, sweets, cupcakes, cakes, drawings, and other home-made products.
In this regard, the school extended its appreciation to parents, teachers, and students for making the project a success.
Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No 1-6 Management Committee chairman Datuk Jonathan Chai presented the donation to SCCS during a simple ceremony held at the school on Feb 15.
