250 recipients get aid from Back To School programme

LUNDU: A total of 250 people received donations from the Tanjong Datu Back To School programme held at the Mahligai Gading Lundu multipurpose hall here yesterday.

Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said a total of 150 people received donations of school bags and stationery while 100 received free haircuts.

In addition, a lucky ticket draw and health exercise by RP Fitness were held during the event.

“This event is held every year, only this time it’s different because of the transition to school which is usually held in January but this year for the first time after the COVID-19 outbreak, the school will open on March 18,” he said,

The Tanjong Datu Back To School Programme this time was jointly organised by the Tanjong Datu Service Centre, the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Movement and Beliawanis of Tanjong Datu.

Also present were the political secretary to the Premier Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, vice head of PBB Tanjong Datu branch, councillor Sintu Layang, councillor Fatimah Abdullah and Mohd Rhadzie Kassim as well as executive secretary to PBB Tanjong Datu Jamsari Ahamad.
