KUCHING: The Journalists Association of Kuching Division Sarawak (KDJA) welcomes media and former media practitioners to its March 6 reunion dinner here.
The organising committee said in a press release here yesterday that the reunion celebration dinner will be held at 6 pm that evening at the Grand Riverine Ballroom by Lok Thian, Jalan Petanak.
“The purpose of this event is to bring together news practitioners after two years of separation due to the pandemic, especially inviting retired and former news practitioners to catch up and reunite.
“Through this event, the association also wants to thank news practitioners for their contribution to society, especially during the pandemic period,” said KDJA chairman Ronnie Teo.
“They have worked hard to provide the most detailed information to the public, which was reliable and trustworthy,” he added.
The upcoming dinner is supported by STM Lottery Sdn Bhd which has been a supporter of this event for many years. The collaboration between STM Lottery and KDJA has a history of more than 30 years.
The association also expresses its gratitude to the senior leaders and high-level officials of STM Lottery for their tireless efforts and contributions to the association over the years.
The association’s members include those from Chinese, English, Malay, and Iban language media, as well as TV stations, radio stations, government news bureaus, Sarawak Chief Minister’s Department Public Relations and Communications Unit, and legitimate online media.
Ronnie said the association has more than 300 members and non-members and news practitioners who have not joined the association are also welcome to register and attend.
He added that there will be lucky draws for KDJA members and entertainment programs prepared for the night.
Those in the media line who are not yet members are highly encouraged to renew their membership for the year 2023.
