IPOH: Asian Lawn Bowls Federation (ALBF) president Datuk Awalan Abdul Aziz has pledged to ensure that the sport is on a par with other sports in the country and Asia.

Therefore, Awalan who is also Malaysian Lawn Bowls Federation (MLBF) president, said he would cooperate with neighbouring countries and the different levels of management in the mission to strengthen lawn bowl.

“I consider this as a trust and responsibility as well as a success for the country if the achievements in developing this sport are recognised.

“More  than that, perhaps this Asian governing body will also recognise all our actions including the role of the association itself as well as the government’s commitment,” he said when met at the dinner of 14th Asian Under-25 Lawn Bowl Championship 2023 here, last night.

Awalan won the ALBF presidency unopposed during the election that took place at the 15th Board of Governors Meeting Asian Lawn Bowls Federation in Meru Raya on Saturday.

According to him, the main focus is to ensure that the promotion of the sport always finds a place in the community.

“The most important thing is the development programme of lawn bowl itself to find the future players of this sport because not all places in the country have facilities for this sport. –BERNAMA
