SARATOK: A 44-year-old woman died on the spot following a three-vehicle accident along Jalan Roban on Wednesday (Mar 1).
The accident which involved two pick-up trucks and a sedan, happened around 7 pm.
Saratok OCPD DSP Mordani Tanin said the collision occurred when a pick-up truck is believed to have swerved into the opposite lane and collided into the second pick-up truck.
“Following that, the first pick-up truck crashed into the sedan driven by a 20-year-old woman with the victim as her passenger, that was behind the second pick-up truck.
“As a result, the victim identified as Masiha Epin was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” he said.
Her body was later taken to Saratok Hospital for post-mortem after it had to be extricated from the vehicle by Saratok firemen.
The pick-up truck drivers, aged 40 and 44, along with the sedan driver were unharmed in the accident.
Mordani said the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
