KUCHING: Establishing a youth training centre which focuses on leadership skills training for the youth in Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency is a dream that its MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof aspires to achieve in the near future.
Fadillah, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said that this is one of his aspirations that he hoped to fulfill for the youth under his constituency.
“Today, I have a get-together with the youth in my area and to get their feedback on the present government’s performance.
“During the meeting, they have posted one question to me on what is my aspiration for the youth in this area (Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency).
“So, I shared with them that if I have the ability and capability, I wish to set up a training centre that can provide leadership programmes so that we can further train them as future leaders,” he said.
He said in a press conference after meeting with the youth under Petra Jaya parliamentary constituency in the ‘Juh Bekpes Dengan FY’ programme at a local eatery here yesterday (Mar 4).
Fadillah added the training centre is not only to hone leadership qualities from a political aspect, but also in other sectors such as in business, corporate, community, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
“In addition, if possible, we provide further exposure to the youth not only in the state, but also at the national and International level.
“With this, they can be future leaders and lead Sarawak to a more advanced state. This is my hope for the younger generation,” he said.
Earlier, Fadillah attended breakfast with 45 youth aged between 18 to 28 who are from the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pro-tem Youth Wing.
It consisted of youth from the state constituencies of Tupong, Samariang and Satok.
