SIBU: Sibu Member of Parliament Service Centre will organise a new subsidy programme for those having medical difficulties to purchase wheelchairs and medical beds within this year.
Announcing this, Sibu MP Oscar Ling Chai Yew said,”We will subsidise those who need wheelchairs RM100 each and those who need medical beds RM300 each.
“To qualify for this help, they should come from Sibu parliamentary constituency and need to provide identity cards, medical reports and the purchase receipts to my service centre in Rejang Park,” he said when addressing at a food cum essential goods subsidy programme held at Delta The Market Place here today (March 4).
Ling said the programme which included rebate of a RM5 petrol voucher was aimed at reducing the current burden of living costs among the people.
He said because people were complaining about the food subsidy programme and those who needed medical equipment were not being subsidised.
On the newly introduced ‘Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah’ (STR) for B40 and M40 to reduce the burden of living costs, he said the registration started on March 1 and would continue until the end of this month.
“For those yet to register, I urge them to update themselves and register online,” Ling advised.
