KUALA LUMPUR: Suited their role of reporting the country’s sports news, media practitioners today were given the opportunity to ‘feel’ the experience of being an athlete through the organisation of the National Sports Council (MSN)-Sports Writers Association of Malaysia (SAM) Sports Carnival 2023.

Media practitioners from various media entities were given the opportunity to participate in four sports, namely tug-of-war, sitting volleyball, shoot-out netball and penalty soccer league.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said she was optimistic that the programme would be able to strengthen the relationship between sports administrators and sports media practitioners in the country.

“I hope the close cooperation between KBS (Ministry of Youth and Sports), MSN and media practitioners can continue, where last week, we (KBS) had just finished holding a dialogue with the editors to ensure engagement with each other is always good.

“Certainly this kind of engagement can avoid misunderstandings and various issues such as the media not receiving information,” she told reporters covering the event.
