KUCHING: A family of seven, six adults and a child is made homeless after their house at Kenyalang Park was burned 80 per cent at about 11.30 am yesterday.
The single storey terrace house had several altars set up for members of the public to pray.
During the fire, only one person was in the house and he
managed to escape unhurt. The fire also spread to a nearby house which was slightly burnt.
Pending Assemblywoman Violet Yong also went to the scene after being informed of the fire.
Firefighters from Padungan, Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang Fire Stations went to help douse the fire.
The fire was completely doused at 1.30 pm.
The loss incurred and cause of fire are being investigated.
