MIRI: A one-metre long wild monitor lizard that was spotted hiding under a table of a premises in Medan Niaga SEDC Miri today morning was safely rescued.
A team of five men from Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) was despatched to the scene after receiving a call on the discovery from the premise’s owner yesterday at 9. 50 am.
They managed to secure the area and the reptile was then released to its natural habitat.
It was made to understand that prior to the discovery the housewife was sweeping the floor.
“I was sweeping the floor, when I saw the reptile crawling down the five-foot-way heading towards my premises,” said the 45 year-old owner.
She had tried to chase it away, but to no avail. That was when she made the call to APM for assistance.
