KUCHING: The Magistrate’s Court here yesterday (Mar 20) fined a local man RM2,900 or three months jail for drug abuse.
Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi meted out the sentence on Razlan, 37, after he pleaded guilty to the charge under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Zubaidah ordered the accused to be under police supervision for two years after serving his sentence.
Razlan was charged with taking amphetamine and methamphetamine-type on January 19, 2018.
He was arrested after being suspected of being involved in drug abuse activities after an initial urine screening test conducted on him was found to be positive for drugs.
