BINTULU: Three restaurants have been issued compounds amounting to RM15,400 after they were found to be unclean and failed to meet the hygiene specifications.
 
The Bintulu Division Health Office (PKB), in a statement today, said a three-day operation was carried out by their Food Safety and Quality Unit together with their Health Enforcement team.
 
The operation, held from March 21 to 23, was conducted to ensure that food premises around the district comply with hygiene aspects and good food handling practices.
 
During the operation, three restaurants were found to be unclean, and they were ordered to close down.

In addition, a total of 18 compound notices were issued to the premises in accordance with Section 32B of the Food Act 1983. The total compound value issued amounted to RM15,400.
 
All food premises are reminded to always comply with the Food Hygiene Regulations at all times to maintain the cleanliness of the premises and food safety.
