SARATOK: Youths are invited to move in tandem with the government so that their ideas can be used in development.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said ideal development involves ideas from all age groups, each with their own unique advantages.
According to him, older groups have different expertise compared to young people, as well as different desires and aspirations.
“Therefore, I see how important it is for youths to work with the government so that they can contribute ideas to development.
“The Sarawak government, for example, places great emphasis on youth development, which ultimately benefits the group itself,” he said.
He said this during the launching of the Saberkas Bubur Lambuk contribution programme at Masjid al-Muhtadin near here, on Tuesday, by Saberkas President Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
He added that youth involvement is highly demanded in new fields based on technology.
“I believe that with Sarawak government’s focus on youth development, there are many opportunities that they can explore and master in order to contribute towards Sarawak’s progress towards 2030,” he said.
On the 50th anniversary of Saberkas, Mohamad stated that the non-governmental organisation (NGO) has greatly benefited the youth throughout Sarawak.
He hoped that under the leadership of Abdul Karim, Saberkas would continue to actively help the youth.
