KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended an iftar ceremony with members of the North Kuching City Hall (DBKU) at its headquarters yesterday.
The programme was organised to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan and to strengthen ties and foster a spirit of unity and cooperation among DBKU staff.
In addition to breaking fast and performing congregational prayers, Abang Johari also presented contributions to five orphans who are children of deceased DBKU employees.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki, DBKU Mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan and DBKU director Mohamad Khaidir Abang.
