LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan officiated the distribution of bubur lambuk and Ramadan donations at the Lawas Ramadan Bazaar yesterday (April 6).
The programme was organised by Media Sarawak, Liansin Sarawak, the Bukit Sari branch of Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (Saberkas), Titian Rider Club, and the Malaysia Drugs Prevention Association (Pemadam).
During his speech, Awang Tengah, who is also the Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, expressed his gratitude to the organisers for the successful programme.
In addition, the Minister of International Trade, Industry, and Investment also expressed his gratitude for the concern shown by the people of Sarawak in carrying out programmes to assist those in need in Sarawak.
“I am grateful for the many activities that have been planned, especially programmes to help those in need.
“Let us practise mutual assistance among ourselves and always be united and work together.
“After completing this programme, I will visit the Lawas Ramadan Bazaar and buy food from the traders there to distribute to visitors, and I will also interact with the traders,” he added.
Also present were Lawas Member of Parliament Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Limbang Resident Yunus Tambi, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu executive secretary Datuk Awang Bujang Awang Antek, Northern Region Development Agency regional director Datuk Ubaidillah Abdul Latif, political secretary to the Premier Awangku Zainal Abidin Datuk Pengiran Jawa, Lawas district officer Ladin Atok, Lawas District Council secretary Zulkipli Sahari, Sarawak Media Chairman representative Rudi Affendi Khalik, Saberkas Bukit Sari Branch chairman Abu Bahrain Reduan, and Saberkas Ba Kelalan Branch chairman John Tua.
