KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received two courtesy calls at Demak Jaya, here.

QSR Brands Malaysia Holding Berhad Group led by Secretary of The Advisory Council of Syariah QSR Brands (M) Holding Bhd, Mohd Roslan Mohd Saludin was the first to called on Tun Taib.

It was aimed at handing over its Business Zakat to the State of Sarawak for the year 2017 amounting to RM458,871.80 that was received by Tun Taib on behalf of Tabung Baitumal Sarawak (TBS).

Also present were Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Supply Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, President of the Sarawak Islamic Council Datu Misnu Taha and the President of the

Lembaga Baitulmal and Wakaf Sarawak, Datu Putit Matzen.

Tun Taib later received another courtesy call by the Organising Committee of the Sarawak State Level Malidur Rasul Celebration 2018 led by

Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

This time the call was meant to invite Tun Taib to the Maulidur Rasul Celebration 2018 to be held in Sarikei on 19 and 20 November.

According to Abdul Rahman, in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul Celebration in Sarikei, the

Majlis Kesyukuran and Zikir Maulid  will be held at Al-Muttaqin Mosque in Sarikei on 19 November (afternoon) followed by Maulidur Rasul Procession at the Kompleks Sukan Sarikei in the morning of 20 November.
