Deputy Chief MInister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing (sixth from right) at the Shuibuya Dam on the Qingjiang River in Badong County, Enshi, Hubei Province, China.

KUCHING :Deputy Chief MInister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing has refused to comment on issues pertaining to oil and gas royalties for Sarawak.

Masing is currently on a working visit to Shuibuya Dam, a concrete-face rock-fill embankment dam on the Qingjiang River in Badong County, Enshi, Hubei Province, China.

He told New Sarawak Tribune he did not want to comment on something that belonged to Sarawak. He said there was no reason for him to ask how much royalties Sarawak would be given on the oil and gas when the assets belonged to Sarawak.

Masing added that the Pakatan Harapan government should decide how much should be given to Petronas and not the other way round. The Minister added he would comment on the federal budget after it was tabled.
