SEBUYAU: The newly completed Sebuyau Chalet Phase 1 project is set to open soon.
Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi said the project, approved by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, aims to provide affordable lodging for the public.
Julaihi, who is also the Sebuyau assemblyman, said the phase 1 component of the project features a main building that houses a meeting room, restaurant and administrative office.
“Additionally, three twin chalet blocks have been built, each block containing two rooms, providing a total of six available rooms. Electricity and water supply have been connected, and the viewing deck is also complete,” he said in a Facebook post.
During his visit to the Sebuyau Chalet yesterday, Julaihi expressed hope that the chalet will be officially opened and operational after the Hari Raya celebration and that phases two and three of the project will follow suit.
He was confident that the locals will be able to increase their economic income by participating in the sale of agricultural and fishery products, as well as food, thus providing job opportunities for the dwellers.
Also present during the visit were Sebuyau District Officer Ayuradiman Bujang and the chief of the Sebuyau Malay community Abu Seman Suhaili.
