GUA MUSANG: The Air Unit of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) conducted two medical evacuation flights (Medevac) for three Orang Asli women from Pos Balar and Pos Simpor to receive further treatment at the Gua Musang Hospital on Sunday.

According to the public relations officer of the JBPM Northern Region air base, Penang, Assistant Fire Superintendent Muhammad Akmaluddin Said the two patients from Pos Balar were pregnant, and unwell for several days.

“The two patients from Pos Balar are Rena Amat, 28, who was suffering from abdominal pains as well as back pains for two days; and Maria Aluj, 24, who had been unable to eat for five days due to a swelling on her chin.

“The other patient, Jalisah Beloy, 45, Kampung Sedal, Pos Simpor, had been suffering from measles for five days. She was in a weak state and had to be stretchered onboard the Agusta Westland 139 (AW139) aircraft,” he said in a statement yesterday. – BERNAMA
