MIRI: A three-year-old boy was rescued after nearly drowning at Luak Esplanade beach this morning (May 1).

The incident occurred approximately 200 metres away from the beach’s watchtower.

Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) responded to the scene at 10.31am after several beachgoers managed to pull the unconscious boy out of the water.

Upon arrival, APM personnel and paramedics performed CPR and successfully restored the boy’s heart and respiration.

He was then rushed to Miri Hospital for further medical treatmen
