KUCHING: Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor has urged the relevant authorities to resolve the lack of lack of clean water supply and non-functional water taps which are affecting residents in Pusa and Beladin.
He said the shortage of clean water supply in Kampung Pusa and Beladin is long standing even before Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“The residents of both villages are very disappointed due to the lack of clean water supply and have to rely on rainwater catchment as their source of water.
“This makes it very difficult for residents in this area to do any activities, especially during the festive season.
“Pusa and Beladin are villages with large populations. Therefore, they are appealing for this problem to be resolved as soon as possible,” he said in a statement.
Razaili also requested the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) Betong Division to hold a special meeting to provide in-depth information to the affected residents.
He said the issue must be resolved fast as some residents often shifted the blame to the government or ‘wakil rakyat’.
He hoped that the matter would receive due attention from the ministers and relevant agencies to prevent the water woes in Pusa and Beladin becoming a long-term issue.
