KUCHING: Sarawak will host the International Olympic Council (IOC) Solidarity Sports Administrators Course (MOM) from August 11 to 13 at Curtin University Malaysia Miri Campus.
Dr. KH Tan, Malaysian Olympic Council Eastern Zone chairman, has urged sports practitioners, associations, and clubs to participate in the course.
The MOM course aims to assist sports administrators at various levels, including National Olympic Council, National Sports Associations and Federations (NF), and other sports bodies responsible for sports development, to work more effectively and efficiently in the Olympic and sports movement.
The course is suitable for selected officials, volunteer administrators, salaried staff, and anyone involved in sports administration worldwide.
Its objective is to foster professionalism in sports management, equip sports staff with critical administrative and organisational skills, and enhance their skills in managing sports events.
Topics covered in the course are based on the IOC Sports Administration Manual and include principles, structure, and leadership of the Olympic Movement, sports governance, ethical issues in doping, financial management, leadership in sports management, athlete agreements, dispute resolution, and the importance of sports to society.

Only the first 50 registered participants from the Northern Zone of Sarawak will be accepted, and the registration fee is RM300 per participant.
